The only exception here is perhaps the reel carrying number 50000, the first Ambassadeur to receive a serial number and given to him from Göte Borgström in 1956 in appreciation of his work for ABU. Reels like the early prototypes (I know he kept these although they were gone by the time I saw the collection for the first time), the color test prototypes and the first production models. This attitude is reflected in the reels he kept, they are the milestone reels from the Ambassadeur project. His reels were not on display, but stored along with a few other items from his career. He wasn t a collector in the true sense of the word and he kept the reels more as documentation of his work than as show pieces. Many who knew Åke Murvall did not know he kept a small private collection of reels. We, the lovers of ABU and most particularly the Ambassader, stand in awe of this man, and are ever beholding to his meticulousness in design and record keeping.
